Why Counselling?
People
come to counselling for all sorts of reasons. Here are just a few of them:
feeling
stuck or trapped to identify why ‘the same old things keep happening’
and how to change this overwhelming emotions support in times of crisis self-harm finding self-confidence and self-esteem help with relationships
and family issues a search for identity, direction or meaning specific problems which are ‘getting in the way’ of living life to the full support in dealing with life changes e.g. new baby, retirement, changes in health, bereavement. coping with stress or depression making decisions learning
to live and cope with past events
There are many more
- as many reasons as there are individuals. Your reason does not have to fit into a neat ‘slot’,
neither does it have to be specific or well-defined. Whatever you come with can be worked with. Sometimes, however, there might
be another counsellor or support agency that would be better placed to meet your requirements, and in that
case I will discuss this with you and help you look in the right place.
