Background Information
Before I became a qualified counsellor, I gained over 20 years of professional experience
in the area of advice and support services. These were across the areas of
- Health
- Education (College
and University)
- Social Housing
- Disability
- Young People and Family work
- Learning Disability
- Mental Health
I therefore
came to counselling with a solid background of experience, knowledge and understanding about the issues we sometimes have
to face in our lives, and the ways in which they affect us.
I have a BA(Hons) Psychology, Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling (BACP Accredited), Certificate
in Counselling, Transactional Analysis 101, qualification in Social Care (P.C.S.C.), and training in Family Therapy. I am
a member of the BACP and hold enhanced CRB clearance.
General Information
Most of my work is
with individual adults, but I have also worked as a counsellor with younger people in several community colleges.
On a more personal level, I enjoy
play, nature and the outdoors (which is why I now offer some forms of outdoor therapy where appropriate) and I have a great
belief in the power of creativity, which shapes the way I live and work.
